Default Hoosier Tires - Flipping on Wheels

I run Hoosier R6 tires at the track. Last year I was not running much less camber (-1.5 or so in front) and I realized I had to flip each tire on the rim so I would not wear out the outside edge of the tire. I did this after 3 or 4 events when I noticed the beginning of some slight cording on the outer edge. This year I am running more camber (-2.7 in front).

The question is should I still flip the tires to maximum tire life? I now have 3 track day on these tires. What do most people do?

What about the rears as well? I never did cord the rears last year and I run a good bit less camber in the rear.

turning in puts all the strain on the tires friction in the front.

more camber makes the tire lay "flatter" in the corner.

more camber means less tire edge roll over.

No matter what you do you will almost always wear the outer edge faster. just keep an eye on it. If it looks like its assymetrical wear flip. If it looks like even wear dont.

Hot pressures make a HUGE difference in how evenly the tire wears. Get your pressures right and check inside vs outside tire wall temps if you really want this perfect.

I like to flip the tire when its about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way through its life. This way, I only have to do it once.

I routinely flip my tires and it does extend their life

with -2+ camber, the sessions you gain if you flip the tires will be sessions with understeering, slower car since you have put a lot of heat cycles in at that point.

if you are ok with that, flip them by all means. I personally get irritated when I have to slow down my corner entries by more than 2-3mph from my norm just to get cycled out fronts to maintain traction so I toss them before I would realize any advantages from flipping.

I flip my R6's after three events. I usually only get another two events out of them before they get too greasy.
