Has anyone tried these on a C6 Z06 using 18's all around? I'm really considering them using 335 X 30ZR X 18 rear and 285 X 30ZR X 18 front, I was wondering if I can run in comp mode with any TC or AH issues anyone know? TIA

check the f and r tire diameters - for C5 if F is smaller than R than you are ok (from what I read, no experience). I assume it would be the same for C6.

stock sizes are 25.6/26.7 (F/R), so you should be alright.

You should also do a search to see what F/R diameters have triggered active handling/abs/TC error messages.

When I run 315 30ZR 18 front and rear the TC comes on around 60 mph. This is caused by the rear tires being a smaller diameter than the stock tires. The computer compares the speed (rpm) of the front and rear tires based on stock tire sizes. When the computer sees that the rear tires are at the same speed (rpm) as the front, it thinks the rear tires are slipping and activates the TC.

Not really because the rear tires are smaller, but rather because there's no "speed" difference between your front and your rear tires. If you want nannies, you must run a front tire that is shorter than the rear.

On my C6 non-Z I've run 295/30r18+305/35r18 and 275/35r18+305/35r18 and been able to drive them on the street without worrying about AH/TC issues. Stock for me was 245/40r18+285/35r19 so my rear now is 0.5" shorter than stock, the 295/30 was 1.0" shorter than stock and the 275/35 is about the same (and even with the 0.5" shorter rear works fine).

There may be some tolerance or slop from car to car. My C5Z could run equal diameter tires front and rear and the TC would never get upset over the tires being the same diameter. Others ran the same setup on their C5Zs and the TC would get upset.

Thought that's what I said - No rpm difference. So the computer is programmed that the rear tires are taller.

Sorry. I was being pedantic. If you use smaller fronts with smaller rears the computer doesn't care, that's all I was trying to point out.

with both of you ,however: there is a point where even though the front is smaller than the rear its not small enough which causes the activation in the TC or AH.once you reach a certain speed, I want to know what that diameter number is?

Since the computer is just comparing wheel speed sensors... I think you're asking front:rear difference and all I can tell you is that I have been told to try and keep at least 0.5" difference if I want TC to be happy. But I don't know the actual numbers and in another thread Bill Dearborn said on his C5Z he can run the same size tires without freaking out TC...

Giving up on Hoosiers already? Are these tires much cheaper?

Nope not giving up on them at all I was just looking at other options since Hoosiers are expensive and I've heard good things about these BFGs unfortuately the users weren't driving the C6 Z06. The BFG are less expensive nothing is cheap when it comes to Good track tires on our cars.

Thanks for the feedback guys I finally got the answer I was looking for. I'm going to stay with the R6.
