Default C4 Adjustable Sway Bar

I've finally broken down and I'm getting an adjustable rear sway bar for my track car. The C4 is a real orphan. No one makes aftermarket sway bars for the C4. I"m having D.J. Racing modify mine. Danny has been doing this for years now.

I'll post more as the project goes along. Here's what I have up to this point.

Sounds good! What do they charge to modify an existing one?

I'm not sure on the charge. I would call Danny and ask.

If your looking at selling modified bars, you may want to look into the front

1) it's easier to get at to adjust
2) you could modify it so those switching to coilovers don't have to relocate the bar.

My local welder would probably charge $10 to weld on a flange like that.

I like the front to be as stiff as possible and then fine tune the rear for oversteer or understeer.

Not bad. I will have to see if anyone I know can do it. Is there any difference in welding spring steel as apposed to regular? If not I could do it myself.

I don't know. I'm terrible at welding! I even took a class. Adding a flange like that is simple though, I just have my neighbor weld.

My old turbo car had a rear bar with three holes like that.

Danny helped me do a front bar for my car last year. He has a powder coater right up the road from him too.

you can control over & understeer by raising and lowering the rear of the car.

You would also destroy any work you would have done corner balancing the car.

Danny is without a doubt one of the smartest guys out there when it comes to this kind of stuff. He actually has race proven results pretty extensively for C4's and C5's. Looks like I'll be giving him a call on this one.

Did the sway bar mod actually change the positioning of the bar in any way? I doubt it did but I had to ask. It looks like everything is positioned as stock. We were having an issue with rubbing this weekend at Putnam Park.

This would be a great way to dial in the front end with a lighter sprung car. Would have been nice yesterday when I was dragging the front tires in a few spots.

I was actually talking about a front bar. I wonder how difficult a front bar would be...

I don't know that it does or not, but Danny and Ray M. would use this trick. As long as you keep track of how much you change, you can go back.

I wish a front was available. I've spent a week now trying to mod my links so the bar will clear the coil overs. A buddy even fabricated an adjustable link set up and that didn't solve it.
