Default Trailer Price

I am looking for a trailer to tow my C4 with. Something inexpensive for short trips. I came across this one, but I am not sure about the price of used trailers. Anybody know what these are going for new or used? Is this in the ballpark?

That is a fair price. Not a good price, maybe beat him up over a few bucks to make yourself feel better.

I bought a similar trailer off e-bay (Bri-mar 16' open) 2005, but without the tire rack for $1900. It is nice that this one has a tire rack. You gotta throw in a couple hunder of value for that!

Thanks. I just read that GA requires brakes on all axles. I will keep looking

Not a real issue. Brakes are easy...buy a new axle from a trailer supplier and install it and wire in the brakes. Figure about $300 for that. Could be a negotiating point....

You can get a brand new 18' solid steel trailer with a 4" drop deck for easier loading in Macon for right at $2500. I had a fellow CF member with a C4 buy one last week. Let me know if you want me to email you a copy of the quote.
And no...I don't work there or have any affiliation with them - I just bought my trailer from them and thought it was a pretty good deal.

I bought my 18' steel deck open trailer from Kaufman last year for around ~$2500.

I'll admit it - I bought that trailer last week. I have a 2010 Tahoe, without the towing package.

I am soooooo glad I got 18', a 16' is just not long enough.
The drop deck is great! i Had to go with a 3 1/2" drop hitch to keep from dragging and to level the deck - this is probably different with each tow vehicle type.
With the drop deck I can leave it hooked to the truck, set the emergency brake, pull out the ramps, hook them on and drive the car on the trailer or drive it off. I've seen lots of other trailers where they have to back the tow vehicle up ramps and add ramp extensions etc. to get a car on and off the trailer.

OBTW - the Tahoe towed it with my c4 with no issues to CMP last weekend. It even got 13 MPG with the AC running both to and from the track!

I got this one brand new locally with 1 yr warranty for $2200. 18', full steel deck, dual brakes, removable fender, drop tail, extended ramps. Here is the best pic I have of it:

that trailer is well worth what he is asking. ****** it up. I bought a wood deck open trailer 2-3 years ago for $1650 new, added ramp extensions, a tool box, a spare tire, and a double tier tire rack. I wouldn't sell it for $2 g's right now.

screw that, ****** IT UP!!! You can add a braked axle later when you feel like it. The odds that you'd ever be inspected and fined are probably close to zero.

That trailer is a steal.

Cool. I've been wondering if you picked it up. Glad you like it.
