Oil Leak after CMP
So did my post track inspection today and found the bottom of my motor to be covered in oil. I did not notice this when I changed the oil the day before the event. I do not notice a loss of oil in the crankcase. Few Questions / Facts.
Checked the Oil Cooler lines and fittings all look OK ...
Oil Seems to be coming from front of Motor
All photos taken from bottom of car
See Oil at motor side of water neck ... seems very wet there.
If I over filled the crankcase where would the oil go I thought it would just blow more into the intake and burn it off... It is possible that I put too much en when I went a quart over ... (not probable but possible)
Any thoughts would be great...

Do you still have original crank pulley? I think something happens to the oem rubber over time and they wobble and then there is a seal issue. Does yours wobble?

Yes it is original will get under there tomorrow and see if I see any wobble. If it is that seal does the motor have to come out to fix?

If you think there is ever a chance you might do cam, now is a good time, or if later, then put the 2 piece front cover on. Will save a lot of time later!

Squirt some Grease Lightning on it and see if it turns purple. In my experience, if I squirt GL on Mobile 1 it turns purple. That could help identify the fluid.
It could be p/s fluid, which as Bob says, gets every where.

If it can clean up...run it again like Scott!

Mine started doing that at my last track day. Pull your coupler on the throttle body and see if you have oil standing there. Mine was pushing oil out the coupler going to the air filter.

Cleaned it all up (before the grease lightning tip) looked in the intake and did see some oil as well as some in the air bridge... Just gonna have to monitor it. This ls6 has 65k on the clock of which about 8k are from the track other than valve guides this is the only issue she has had.

Here is the thread I started. Sounds like the same is going on with yours.

Yep, my guess too. Mine is in the shop right now getting its 3rd balancer. Two have failed (OEM and after-market) and the front main seal is a target for the AC belt if it gives way. First lost oil catastrophically . . . second looked like the OPs pics . . . slow, stinky leak.

track cars that run high oil temps. (280+) are hard on seals, the oil can handle 300 degrees but the seals start leaking like crazy..........

Even running hydraulic equipment like a rough terrain forklift or backhoe when the hydraulic oil runs hot the seals on the machine really have a short service life.
I like all the people here saying the oil handles the temps except your motor is not made of oil.

The oil looks like it is spread every under the motor and not favoring one side like power steering does in my experience. I doubt it is the intake either. Keep up posted. How much oil do you use?

My tuner said the OEM balancer would wobble by hand. GM techs confirmed and replaced it under warranty . . . but not before the small AC belt flew apart and wrapped itself around and damaged the front main seal, dumping a ton of oil in the paddock and putting my car on the trailer. My 2nd balancer (after-market) has now failed. The pulley began to separate from the balancer and created an offset with the accessory pullies, which began to fray the main belt. What finally caught my attention were the drops of oil at the track a couple of weeks back. My undercarriage looked exactly like your pics and the car was still driveable, although the AC belt was gone again. Probably gave way and damaged the main seal again, just not as badly. I'm not sure if a failing balancer alone can damage or cause seepage around the main seal, but a wobbly balancer is not good.
BTW, OEM balancers are a little hard to come by right now, probably for more than one reason.
