Default Anyone try the "new" Goodyear Eagles for Sports Cars?

Saw an add for these in the latest SCCA SportsCar.

http://racegoodyear.com/tires/sports.html

Prices look similar to others in 18", but I have not read anything about their actual performance.

Anyone on the forum use these?

Not on anything with power, but we did do a test with them on our ITA Miata. Some info from that test should makes its way into a future issue of SportsCar.

But I can tell you that after two years of trying the Editor got his first ITA win on them.

Interesting! It's always good to get another tire manufacturer producing tires in our sizes. A little price competition would be a good thing!

Default new Goodyears

We are using them on our T3 Nissan 350Z in 18" size and love them. We have many years of experience with Kumhos' and Hoosiers and find that the new DOT Goodyear doesn't drop off much in performance. We usually put on a new set of tires and qualify on them on the first day and then set them aside until the race which is usually the next day. So far we have run them at the double national at VIR and also at a national at New Jersey Motorsports Park and this weekend at the double national at Watkins Glen. I know that Goodyear did a lot of testing before they brought the tire out so its not much of a suprise to us that they are great tires. In the NJMP race our lap times dropped about .5 seconds from early lap to the last lap which in a 20 lap race is very acceptable. They are working on a new rain tire which should be out in September or October i've been told.

Hopefully Richard Newton chimes in. I know he is using them on his C4.

Here is his car.

Hmm... and they are cheaper than the Hoosier A6's.
