Heavy Duty Car Cover During Towing
I will be going "window-less" soon but still towing on an open trailer. Anyone doing that and using a beefy cover with tie-downs?
I know someone would say the flapping of the cover would damage the paint but it's not a concern on my old track car. And no, going enclosed is not an option for me at this point....

I've thought about it, but the waxer in me refuses to do so.
I need to do something soon though because duct taping a trash bag over the big hole really sucks.
Falcon has a guy that can fabricate a velcro/snap on heavy duty cover for a very reasonable fee. I'll send you the details if you're interested.

covers just don't work with open trailers, I've seen an evolution 4 car cover take paint off the corners in a 20 minute tow, it rubs the corners that bad.

You can get a cover made that will not flap. I had covers on all my offshore race boats and we towed at 100 MPH and 80 all the time. No damage to the paint or graphics what so ever.

Never saw anything tight enough. Even forgetting the paint if it flaps it will tear the cover up. Custom cover would not be cheap I guess 2 grand plus or minus.

Ehhheemmm....have you taken a close look at what you're driving at VIR this weekend?
From your description, it didn't seem like it would work for me since it was so custom for his C4 but I'll give him a call... Need to see when he's getting on track again anyway. Hope you're doing well and keeping on "the plan"....

Wally's cover was custom made and that is what you will need to do if you want one that will work with your car. Find a good canvas shop. [think boat cover]
Yes I am sticking to the plan, you think Patches would let me do anything else.
That's me too.
