Just curious, are there any women racers/track day drivers here? Where are you girls anyway?

Thanks!

My wife autocrossed for years and still does the occasional track-day when she can.

Hi Donna, wish there were more too. I was married to one once and I miss that!

Somethin' about a woman in a Vette! I'm sure the boy's will agree! Now if you drive race a Vette and cook - well that's something for sure. Wait, I can do that. Hmmm.....doesn't quite seem the same!

YES! There are several well known Women Vintage race drivers. At least one who drives a Corvette (and very well too). I don't know if any are Forum members, but anyone who follows Vintage Ferraris knows that one of the 250 GTOs has been owned and raced for more than 25 years by Sandra McNeil I mention her by name because she is in the public domain. Perhaps some of the other Ladies will weigh in.

That is becoming more rare than a woman at the track in a car. Glad I am well taken care of in the kitchen. She is the crew chief and really makes it easy to go to the track and drives the rig there too!

We typically have 6 to 10 females at CCM Autocrosses.
Several run faster times than most of the men.

I doubt it....

Seriously, there are plenty of women showing up at events and driving. The Chief Instructor for NASA-SE is a lady and is a Spec E30 racing fanatic too boot. Wish we had more.

My wife has been doing SCCA and a little NCCC autoX for about 5 years now and loves it. She just did her first PDX at Road Atlanta and came in after the first session wide-eyed after her first trip through #11 and #12!

Probably never going to be a W2W gal but AutoX for sure and maybe a bit more track time. I've seen Donna out there at many events, especially here in ATL.

My wife the hood ornament in the picture does autoX and road racing, and embarrasses Porsche drivers all day in our C5.

I have autocrossed in several regions and watched a couple of national champs(in Vettes, one runs against the men) kick some serious butt!

My new wife wants to play but we are still rebuilding our cars, One is going to be a pretty slick Pro Tour C5 with a 53 Studebaker body and she wants to drive it in autocross, HPDE, TT, open road and someday hit 200 on the salt in it. It will be a street car at that and I plan to fully support the steps it will take to get her there

Don't forget about Rita Wilsey. The only women to win the BSP National Championship in a C4!

Last year I had some very fine instruction from instructor/T1 racer, Natha Walbaum. I don't know if she is a forum member, but her crew chief is CP Thunder.

My wife helps us run track events and will occassionally take a few laps in whichever car we take along when time allows. She grew up racing and has a room full of trophies and championships, so the hobby has a different perspective for her.

As far as finding her on the forums, you'll never see her. She has enough trouble with stalkers bothering her at events. It happened as recently as this past Sunday at an event we were conducting in Nashville. There are usually one or two lonely leg humpers at the track without inviting more from the internet.

My wife drives every chance she gets. She is currently leading the womens class for Race Tires in our Auto X points series. She does HPDE's, runs 10's in the 1/4 in the C6Z and drives a LS2 Trailblazer SS with Long Tubes, intake and 125 shot for a daily driver.
