who else watched today?? I liked it compared to the last cbs airing of an ALMS race earlier this season.

I watched a bit at the beginning and a bit at the end. Horrible. Hated it. Just show me the race. If you want to do some docudrama crap ala NFL films do it as a separate program and not instead of showing the actual event.

I watched it, and didn't like it. At least two times the #4 car overtook the leader, when they went back to GT he had lost the lead. They never said anything about the lead change.
I did learn that B. Rahal is an ***. He rolled his eyes as his driver said he had to really fight with the BMW to keep up.

i wish i was able to make the race but just got home from a week vacation so gotta play catchup now at work and ya rahal did seem like a jerk.

alms free live streaming video last weekend was great. No advertising breaks. Live timing.

I watched the ALMS video last weekend also and it was very good. They caught most of the good GT2 action, tough for them to get everything, plus it was easy to stay on top of things with the live timing and scoring on the same page. Very cool

I agree. That's the last time I watch what has to be about the worst racing coverage I've seen.
It's just a shame.

I watched for an hour and them switched over to the Nascar race. The ALMS race was just filler to the next commercial. Don't they realize how boring that coverage was?

I agree . It did sound more like a 70's football documentary than race coverage . Just dull . Didn't watch very long and I'm a die hard . Switched over to NASCAR instead .

That had to be the worst covereage of a sporting event I've seen. For all the reasons other have mentioned, and more. It's bad enough that we have to wait a week to see taht, but when we do... THAT is what we get?

As for the CBS coverage, I agree that for me it was annoying. But then the standard race coverage is really just "preaching to the choir" and what ALMS wants to do is GROW their audience. That requires teaching the uninitiated and hopefully making converts. So I suffer through it much like I suffer through Bob Varsha explaining over and over (and over and over) how F1 qualifying works

I couldn't stand it. When I turned it on, I thought it was some sort of pre-race show.

As for Rahal, I thought it was his driver who was the ***. Rahal pulled the driver and the driver was whining. At least that was my impression.

I didn't like it either. So much so I spent a little time trying to see if I could email ALMS or CBS and tell them how much I didn't like it. I was unable to find any web feedback address.

I watched as much of it as I could possibly stand. It was like some long info-mercial.

I kept waiting for the announcer to say:

"We have operators standing by! Call within the next 5 minutes and get a gift set of Ginsu knives with your order of the high protein drink that all of the ALMS drivers consume before each race! Have your credit card ready!"

Rahal has to remember he was a driver once, and I'm sure he bitched as much as any of his current drivers.

BTW, WTF is up with Corvette Racing? Cars that used to run hours on end now can't make it the length of a 2:45 race>
