Need help in picking track only wheels and tires for an '07 Z06.
I have been taking my ’07 Z06 out on track days for about 2 years now and am looking to move to a new wheel / tire set-up for track use only. After researching at the track, and searching through forum posts, and it appears that the most popular alternative wheels are CCW with 18x11 fronts and 18x13 rears. From what I have read, these offer a fairly wide selection of tires and don’t cause rubbing in stock suspension cars. True? Is anyone using different wheel sizes that are maybe not posted as often, but work well?
Regarding tires, I am most interested in either the Toyo R888 or Hoosier R6. But it appears that the Toyo's don’t come in a 13, so I would need 18x12 rear wheels. What other tire options are successful on the track?
I have noted that as long as the OD of the tires does not differ more than 5% between the fronts and rears, there should be minimal computer problems. However, are there any combinations that are known to cause C6Z06 AH/TC computer problems? Lastly, are there any offset or hub changes needed if moving to stickier tires?
Thanks in advance for the help! I really can’t afford to learn through too much trial and error.

If you're going to R compound tires, you may want to make sure you've read up on the C6 Z06 high sustained-G loading oiling issues and look at your oiling system.

Call and ask John or Chip at CCW if they've had guys run the Toyo R888 335/30r18 on 18x13s or not. They may just recommend 18x12.5, but in the past John has told me that the Toyos like to stretch a bit...

I would recommend 18X13's too. Talk to John at CCW and see what he says though. I went with 18X13's so that if I ever want to put on a scrub from a non-DOT tire there area a lot of nice choices from race teams that are either super wide or like to be stretched a bit.

I appreciate the advice! I will give John at CCW a call.
Regarding tires, if I end up on R6 Hoosiers, are 345/35s a common rear size? What about fronts - 315/30s? That would seem to keep about a 1" differential between the fronts and rears, which should satisfy the AH/TC computer.
