Did you see how far back the armco was pushed back? The Porsche broke several 8 inch diameter posts supporting the Armco and bent in back 4 feet. Geez!

He walked out, but at that speed I bet he feeling it tonight!

yeah that was insane how far that got pushed back, i am not surprised they called the race with 30 min left woulda been a bitch to repair that quickly.

good thing none of the open cockpit cars came flying through there as lots of big debris and they woulda been done for it they hit it like the one f1 guy last year.

insane he walked outta the car. and was ok to do a interview towards the end sure he is gonna be a stiff **** tomorrow

Oh yes, Did you see his tire with suspension flying through the air? Makes me want to put in windshield guard for my Lexan windshield like LG has.

Un-freakin-believable crashes, especially the GT1 Porsche, even after the LMP drivers were warned about their arrogance on the track toward the GT class.

Hopefully, Corvette Racing will get their act together real soon. Getting beat by these Porches and BMWs is embarassing.

Note: The ALMS will be adding the 2011 Grand Prix of Baltimore to their racing schedule. Look for the race to be held on Saturday over the Labor Day weekend next year with the Indy Cars running on Sunday. Remember, you heard it here first.

I don't think there is anything embarrassing about losing a race. That is, of course, unless you talk a lot of trash before hand...

I'm amazed at the prototype driver's attitude. "I pulled out to make the pass and, well, I was 95% clear. Why he didn't move over I don't understand." When the prototype driver that whacked the #4 was interviewed he said "I had a run on the (prototype car he was racing) and almost cleared the Corvette."

What's with these idiots? Do they not understand that "almost cleared" is NOT CLEAR?

I was so thankful that the P-car driver wasn't seriously injured, and was amazed that he wasn't apparently injured at all!

Have a good one,
Mike

In defense of Jonny Cocker, it did look like the GTC car was giving him room, then at the last second started coming inside. I feel the GTC car should really have been paying attention to his rearview mirrors. That BMW going air borne was just crazy. Hoping to watch the complete race tonight. I only caught parts of it yesterday. I think for the first official year of the GT2 corvette, they aren't doing bad at all (minus those self inflicted injuries). The first year of the C6R GT1 car was a bad year too...

I was there this weekend, and it was crazy!!! Tons of crashes and drama!!! The BMW/Ford GT crash happened right in front of the Corvette Corral. There was even some kind of physical altercation between the Corvette Racing team and a LMP team, although I don't know the full details because it was hard to hear the track's PA system at the time.

Too many classes.
Too many levels of driving ability.
Insane closing speeds.

Word. Makes the eventual wins way sweeter than those against the weak GT1 fields. I have confidence that once they've had a full GT2 season under their belt, things will improve.
