I don't know where to buy some (maybee a hardware store) but Tire Rack will put a silver reflective tape over weights if you ask. It looks like some reflective foil heating duct tape.

I get more vibration from what my R888 picks up from the track than what the loss of the balancing weights cause. So, I run without weights. Am I the only one that have made that decision?

I have not balanced any wheels on my car in over a year and have had no issues at all

I've thought about it but I don't want to trailer so I drive to the track. On the way home a lot of the junk wears off. I started out bumping/thumping along and it gets smooth by the time I get home. So I still balance mine. I've found quite a bit of large OPR shreds just stuck on the ID of the wheel too.

Aluminum duct tape here too. We have used it for 14 years on my son's car and never had a problem. Its cheap and readily available at any decent hardware store, Home Depot and Lowes. We always ask the tire mounters to leave the tape off and install the aluminum ourselves. We always clean the inside of our wheels before we take them to the goodyear truck.

It's really a waste of money and time to balance track wheels. If you're a fast driver your tires are rotating on the rims. Mine rotate up to 90 degrees on the rims the first session.
Next track day get a grease pen or other marker and make a mark on the tire at the wheels valve stem. Go run a couple of sessions and look at your mark. You'll be surprised.
Again, this is for guys running R compounds, race pads and driving aggressively. If you're just out there cruising around I doubt you'll get rotation on the wheel....
