Default Hero HD GoPro Update

If you have this camera the new firmware is finally available. Go to the GoPro site if you were too lazy to signup on their mailing list.

You can now record upside down. And they have a one button setting to record

That's awesome news. I am going to the track THIS weekend and now i can have it inside my car in a couple places and not have to worry about the upside down. Perfect timing!

It wasn't really a big deal. You just had to flip it in QT. But this does save a step. I hang mine upside down in front of the rear view mirror

Here is some video I took with mine. I used the wide screen but not the HD. Not sure if I can get 2+ hours in HD on my 16GB card. Also got a car charger .... good thing as the battery did not make it thru the whole day.

On top of the upside down feature, I also recommend the one button power-on and record feature. It makes it very easy to work with. HD Pro just went from great to excellent.

If it works I will be using that feature for sure. Going to install and test it this weekend .........

Followed the online video instructions (which is nice and classy for them to provide) and now one push of the front button and I am recording in upside down mode.

Its the camera mount. Another member (I'm not sure who) said he sticks a little shim in there to silence it ..... but it doesn't really bother me

That video is in the 720 DPI/9:16 ratio. I haven't done the full true HD at 980DPI/9:16 ratio yet. Afraid to run out of disc space

Thanks, I like the camera. Simple to use, especially now that it shoots upside down (no conversion necessary) and one button record mode. Its so wide angle that even if its not aimed perfectly it looks great .....
