Default 2010 SCCA T1 Runoffs Crash Video(s) from Start/Finish Line

Here it is, the video of the melee and carnage that was the start of the 2010 SCCA T1 Runoffs race.

I don't have my video editing software with me on this computer while on the road so I had to post the whole clip. The start of the race is at the 4:00 minute mark. Everyone is OK, although a couple of the dr...ivers are bruised and sore. Many cars did not fare so well:

I am glad that Aaron, Jason, Mike M., Mike P., Tom Sloe and the others are OK. It is most unfortunate that there is so much asset loss, but at least the drivers are mostly OK.

I want to thank Aaron, too. He was so helpful to me this weekend. He provided some excellent custom tire service for me.

Thanks for posting, glad you and everyone else is ok. Looking at your data on the video I saw 90 mph right at the time of the crash, thats plenty fast for major injury! Thank goodness for all the safety enhancements

Oli,

Good to hear everyone seems to be okay minus some bent car parts. I watched your video a few times and credit you for bringing the car to stop under control which is the last thing on your mind after hearing on the radio GREEN GREEN GREEN GO GO GO. Watching your rear view mirror at the 4:22 mark could have easily collected you up if not for a quick left hand swerve from behind.

Thanks for posting.

Also happy that everyone is OK. I am sure Aaron will post his video later. I had the chance to see it and he is lucky to be OK.

Sorry to see that happen. It is good to see that you made it through alright....and that no one was hurt. What caused the incident? It looked like the white car might have bumped the one in front of it...???

Is it me or is Betts hitting the rev limiter on every shift?

This the first start of the STO race. The relevance to this thread is at the end when I come up on the crash site.

David,

Why do you suppose the course never went full black, at least by T14?

It looks like the 98 black Viper hits that car. Terrible situation! Really odd not to go black flag. There is video from a rear cam in Tucker's car here:
