I figured it was time to learn some wet road skills;

What I really learned is that it sucks having your window down in the rain!

Nice track with a great staff! Maybe I'll see you out there next year!

I thought it might be Beaver Run based on your location. Yep...nice track. I love that blind corner coming up over the hill onto the backstraight. What organization was sponsoring the event? I would like to make a trip out that way sometime but it seems kind of hard to get on that track. They have their fun days (not sure what they call them) but they are really just half days and its to far for me to travel for that. I haven't been able to find very many normal HPDE type events there.

Turn 7, yeah that's up there on the pucker meter the first few times around!

I do their Flat Out Days, like you said Four 20 minute sessions on the Track for Groups One and Two, not sure about Group Three in the afternoon though. Hopefully soon, my instructor wanted to sign me off on solo Sunday.

I'm getting to know some of the instructors and will ask for you about clubs. I know once you get signed off for Group Three you can attend any Test and Tune day...

Where is Mechanicsburgh? Sounds familiar...

Yea, keep me up to date if you find any Club events their. Mechanicsburg is a suburb of Harrisburg. About 4 hours east of Pittsburgh.

I did VIR last Mar in an all day rain. You get to learn some car control skills at slower speeds. I got to try all the different settings of AH just to see how each affects the car. All on is not good - it makes the car react not like you think it would. Competitive Driving mode was not much different than when on dry roads. Funny thing though, the following week, car started throwing the ABS code, so it cost me $150 to send to absfixer. Must have used the ABS too much?

Comp mode seemed to be the best for me as well. I learned pretty fast that you had to nail your lines, or else get slapped by the computer.

My Hankook Ventus V12s had a surprising amount of grip, I didn't excercise the ABS much but I was giving the AH a work out!

I did find the limit of the Sport pads that came with my BBKs, nothing catastrophic but toward the end of the brake zone at the end of the two straights the pads just seemed to stop biting and I pushed into the ABS wishing I had a parachute to pop!
