Autobahn GT Race Video - October 1st
Earlier GT Race Video: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/auto...ace-video.html showed the car with the STOCK LS6.
I got the car back on October 1st, and drove it in practice for the first time that morning. The GT Race Series had (2) qualifying sessions that day, the first turning a 1:28.1 and the second a 1:27.9 (on South Track). My prior best time was a 1:30.0xx
The combination of the new KADOG motor and Pfadt Comp. Sway bars was great, while the car had the same feel (right at home) to push it to the limits. Don't get me wrong, there's at least another second in there!

Unfortunately my race ended after about 13-laps with THE MEATBALL. I was blowing smoke, and entered pit lane immediately, stopping at our safety team near pit exit. Once the car stopped, the smoke increased. I popped the hood upon exit of the vehicle, and the fresh oxygen ignited a fire that ate up the drivers side fire wall, and some wiring.
The car is back at Black Dog Speed Shop. They're looking into what caused the smoke and fire. I'm confident they'll find the cause, and we'll be back at the track in no time.
I may have to find a driver . . . while out motorcycling on that following Sunday, I crashed . . . first time in over 25-years, and well over 50,000 miles on a bike. I'm fine, but doctor's orders are NO RACE CARS for 6-weeks, at which time we'll likely have snow on the ground.
If I go out before hand . . . no one tell, ok?

damn Don glad you are ok after the motorcycle accident, how did the bike accident occur??
Car is a beast with everything you have done to it, that is too bad about the fire something coulda came loose from the engine install is my guess.

Went to Autobahn today. Cleaned the garage, washed the car, and WATCHED the GT RACE. That was hard.
Two more races next weekend.
It'll be hard to watch, more so if my car is fixed.
Maybe if I really take it easy . . . .
