Default Thanks Joel 96CollectorSport

We were at Road America at MVP event this weekend and my friend cut/sawed thru his front brake hose just before T5. He got car slowed enough to weave thru the tire barriers and back to the paddock.

Where do you get a C5 front brake hose at 2:00 on a Saturday in Elkhart Lake? A call to Joel caught him at a wedding reception and he graciously offered to show up Sunday morning at 7:00 am with a hose. Wow. That saved Marty's weekend and possible a flat bed ride to somewhere.

Meanwhile Joel convinced me that the play in my rear toe rod end was not sufficient grounds to end my weekend. The slop was there all day on Saturday and it did not noticeably affect handling, so why would running it on Sunday make a difference. It made sense and he was right.

If you ever need anything Corvette wise in Elkhart Lake area call Joel.

Thanks again for your help

Erik

a group of us have been coming up to RA for track events, since 2001 and got to know Joel (Corvette Sports), and Greg & Todd (GT Racing Tires).

This is not the 1st time one of them have saved the day, especially Joel. Joel has gone back to the shop to get emergency fixes on many occasions or wrench on one of our cars at the track.

This week end Greg from GT came up with a front C5 wheel bearing and a Hoosier R6 to keep two of us from going home after Saturday.

It good to see them getting a little recognition...

Speaking of...congrats Joel on Corvette Sports getting a mention in this months Road & Track, for the resto job you did on the Brian Redman show winning 65' mid year.

Thanks guys, it's just fun being part of the big ol family of Corvette track rats we've got around here. Nothing sucks worse than a track weekend being cut short. So if anyone's up at RA and in need don't hesitate to call.

for GT Racing Tires too, Greg and Todd have been around RA so much I almost wonder which one was there first!

Always helpful thank you Matt!
And by Moo Cow Matt would be refering to Spotted Cow a beer brewed by New Glarus brewery in WI - you can only get it in WI and you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't try some while you're up here. As a matter of fact I have been know to deliver cases of the stuff to NASA events out of state - is that illegal

Hairless gerbils you would have to ask Wally about

Yeah we bought the rest of them off of him at Autobahn just before Nationals. It shows the right side of the car "before".

The Totally Naked is pretty great, it's a seasonal beer and only around from spring till fall (so if you find some in Janurary be leary).

Glad you guys can make it up once a year!

Totally naked is OK, but spoted cow is the New Glarus flagship. I also like their stone soup and cracked wheat.

Anyways... Joel has always been a big help to us as well. I blew some brake lines a few years ago at RA and drove to Corvette Sports in between sessions and Joel gave me some used, we were up and running by the 3rd session, didn't miss a beat.

Default More Kudos

Kudos to Joel from Arizona.

I made a lot of rookie mistakes at the Nationals, including not being as prepared with spares as I should have been.

Joel was very helpful and generous with advice and loaning tools which kept me in the game.

He also cracked me up when he talked about being "the Pit Bitch". I bet he's a riot after a couple beers!

Thanks again Joel, it was great to meet all of you guys and I hope to have the opportunity to run with you again.(I'll bring more stuff, though).

Cheers,
CV Wells
