Default VIR video with the cobra club

Had a great time at this past weekends event. Met some good corvette folks there. Here is a video from this past weekend at VIR. This is from the orange group. Sorry about the slow start of the video since I don't know how to edit.
If you have any pointers let them fly I'm all ears.

Did you get a chance to try the track tires?

I ran them for 2 sessions Sunday..It just like what you read here on the forum, they break loose with no warning. Maybe I had to much air pressure.

You should have stayed because Sunday afternoon you could run 30 minutes out of every hour.

Do you know what happened to the red FRC? When they black flagged the last session Saturday I parked mine and as I was leaving I saw it being towed in.

Don't worry about thanking people with a wave that give you the point by. Keep your hands on the wheel/shifter instead.

Everyone knows you appreciate it, just return the favor to others that are faster.

Enjoyed running with you Ronnie (I was in the orange C6). Your lines were impressive and your car is powerful. Any mods besides T1 bars?

Thanks OZ51. The car is stock with the exception of T1 bars and carbotech pads xp-10 xp-8.

I have a lot of video with you in it but I can't edit it down to a size small enough to download. The piece I posted was after a black flag in the third session Sunday

I went over to talk to them before I left but they were already gone. I am betting he ran out of gas. They were really cool guys and seemed like they enjoyed working on cars. They have a shop in Virginia Beach.

You cut out Sat before I could say bye and thanks for letting me hang with you and your wife. I never know about my car so I never sign up for more than one day. It ran great after getting tire pressures right. I even got a chance to get an instructor to ride with me for a session. What a big help. He showed me how to use torque throttle oversteer(?) to get thru 5B. I worked on it the last session but was doing it too early and was all over the place. The last lap I nailed it perfectly and ripped thru the whole section. It was awesome. In fact, the corner worker there was clapping as I went by. He must have seen me struggling the laps before.

You didn't spin with the track tires did you? Were your times much better?

Anyway, hope to see you out there next year.

Video and track thanks for posting, and I agree no acknowledgment needed when given a point-by although I sometime still do it

No I didn't spin. the rear would slide in turns 4 and 5 with the front staying planted.

Since I'm sorta new to HDPE and this was the first time I ran with the nannies off I wasn't pushing too hard exiting corners.

Nothing wrong with a wave as you pass a point-bye, promotes good commraderie and glad to see you doing it. Your line looks really good. I believe I may have a little longer delay to the left after initial left turn into the uphill esses as I do not like to have the car in lateral g while going over the hump - a delayed turn to the right allows a better trajectory over the hump to line up for the next left hander apex. That said, sometimes the videos don't tell the whole story, just something you might look at next visit there. Good job!

Thanks, I never get movies or photos of my car. Always shooting from inside. Here's a few laps from the Blue. Have fun!
