Default ALMS Tires Available

I have been notified by Michelin that a limited number of the the S7A LMPC soft compound Michelins are available. These are not the Michelin racing slicks available to the public, they are the compounds used by the ALMS teams left over from the 2010 season.
These are new tires, not scrubs.
I know they are very expensive, but if you want to see what it's like to run what the race car runs, here is your chance.

30/65-18 S7A LMPC (fits 18x11, 18x12 wheel) 10 tires left $550.00 each shipped
31/71-18 S7A LMPC (fits 18x12, 18x13 wheel) 10 tires left $570.00 each shipped

30/65-18 S8C LMPC (fits 18x11, 18x12 wheel) 06 tires left $550.00 each shipped
31/71-18 S9C LMPC (fits 18x12, 18x13 wheel) 04 tires left $570.00 each shipped

damn it why did you have to post this

my michelins have lasted over 8 track days so far, with alot of life left it looks like, so to me they would be worth it although the initial price is alot more i would not care about the price i am sure the 1st time i got them on the track and ran my fastest lap time ever at the local track

i was going to order a set then the damn daily driver had to break down

You could do what I do... Drive a BEATER!

Step 1)sell the daily and buy a $1500 Civic or S10 to commute in.
Step 2) Buy tires...lots of tires haha

rear sizes are too tall for your car Bruce, but you could run the 300's all the way around.

Henry, what do you think these are worth a lap at Sebring over a set of Hoosier R6's?

Hoosier A6s, big ones. If someone wants to buy BRAND NEW A6s at a great deal, I could buy these Michelins!

And when I say broke, I am not kidding - I bought Gary's T1 brakes for front and rear and had to buy two new rear "street" wheels to clear them on the rear! (the new track wheels clear them by a mile).

damn i would say that was a big old mod budget chunk right there

that is why you worked overtime and missed TA 2010 right

it is so sad how much we are slaves to modding our cars

Ok - if i converted this correctly

The 30/65-18 are 11.8" wide and 25.6" tall
The 31/71-18 are 12.2" wide and 28" tall

28" is a pretty tall tire to be running on the back of a Z06. I have a set of drag radials that are that tall and they are really stuffed up in the wheel well.

Has anyone ran tires in the above sizes on their car??
