Yes, when I used the Performance Box, I also had a timing transponder rental from the track and both were alsways within a 1/100th of a second of each other. 90% of time, they were identical. I liked having the VBOX also because of all the other data that it gave me to analyze once I got back home. It tracks your exact position 10 times per second and gives your speed, Gs and racing line. What I liked best is that it is so simple to use. Using it to get data in a friends cars was as easy as moving a radar detector.

I've really enjoyed having a p-box for in-car lap times and for the post event data analysis. Just make sure you do a "coldstart" every month or so. Otherwise you will get home and find you have no data files recorded.
