Default Driving Shoes for Christmas?

I'm interested in a new set of driving shoes/boots. Something SFI certified. I'm not having a lot of success finding reviews/opinions of particular shoes and driving to B&M stores that have a decent selection are too far away.

So what do you racer guys have/like? Sparco, Puma? Mid-top or High-top?

Personally I don't like the puma. I do however like the piloti shoes. I think the ones I used to race with were the dtm model. It's been a while.

I use piloti as well. I bought the low tops and like them. I feel like I have more freedom of movement with them.

I like my 10 year old Simpsons. But I still wish I could find *wide* models.

Pumas are super narrow, and tend to run small, but if you go a size up they will fit just fine.

I have a very wide foot, I wear a 12 EE, the shoes that work for me were actually on the cheap side, I bought Lico. Really like them. SFI rated. If I were track racing I rather than auto cross I would still wear Carbonex socks. I like the high top, protection is the name of the game.

Take a look at Stand 21 the corvette racing team uses them. They will make a custom pair for you if you want

Try finding 7.5EEEE. New Balance shoes are my best friends. I have to special order `wide' hockey skates and then stretch them out, too. The custom Stand 21's sounded interesting but the only pricing I saw was 150GBP for off the shelf. My current Simpsons are nowhere near wide enough but they do the job for 30 minutes at a time.

I have a 14EE. Piloti's are like SNOW SHOES. I've spoken with Stand 21, the guys there are very helpful and the shoes don't look like snow boots. Cost is about 400 dollars but thats a full custom shoe, colors, writing etc... look at them on their website. Addidas also makes a racing boot that will fit wide feet, it's FIA cert.
