Default Hawk DTC-70's front/rear

Who uses Hawk DTC70's on all four corners. I'll be ordering new pads soon and it looks as the DTC70's are a better value than the DTC60's.
Keep in mind this is for the Z06 OE calipers. 8 pads are needed for the rear.

Example-
Box of DTC70 comes with 12 pads @ 285.00 approx.

Box of DTC60 comes with 8 pads @ 240.00 approx.

After 2 changes you get the third set @ 70.00

The question is with DTC70's all the way around is there any draw backs over the DTC70s front and DTC60s rear?

Looking for input.....

I ran those on my C5Z on track and they ate rotors for bfast, lunch and dinner.
Very aggressive pads. Great stoppping power.

I've used them on my vert last year on the front and used HP+ on the rear. I think there wasn't enough stop in the rear and the front had to over work. That's why I was looking to go this way and over all get better performance front and rear......?
That's why I'm asking the question.

HP+ can't handle the weight/power of your car. Too much heat.

Brakes, like tires, have heat ranges. The heat range of the 70 is higher than that of the 60, and since your front brakes to 70% of the work, and the rears 30%, you generally run a hotter pad in the front. 70's may work fine in the rear, but they aren't in their ideal temperature range.

I agree with above....I was factory supplied with Hawk pads back in my WC days, loved the HT12 etc pads, but the DTC70's were very hard on rotors and didn't last long the one time I ran them.

i used dtc 70's all around and loved em! they do eat rotors but they did not crack any rotors. i use cheap stock rotors, so i could care less that they eat rotors. the fact they wore out a bit quicker is probably why they didn't crack the rotors.

Yeah, I was cracking rotors at every event with those pads. Switched to PFC-01 and more recently CL RC60. Also want to try Raysbestos ST-43.

I run Carbotech XP12's all the way around, or 12/10 split.

I run 70s on all four, I don't have stock brakes but one set lasted me an entire season. 22race days & 4 HPDE weekends

Maybe I brake too much . My rotors are lasting a long time now with just heat checking, but stock rotors tended to crack with the 70's when I was running them. I still liked the 70's though because they have great bite. However, the RC60's are pretty amazing pads and not too bad on rotors.

What brakes do you have if you don't mind me asking? Is your car light?

We run DTC-70's on all four corners on both C5's.
The TTS/ST2 car has StopTechs front and rear
The TTA car has stock calipers with StopTech rotors in front and Centric rotors in the rear.
I don't think that the DTC-70's are hard on rotors either we get close to a year out of a front rotor on the TTS/ST2 car and about 3 to 4 weekends out of the TTA car with StopTech 2 piece rotors, if we used Napa or Reybestos rotors we'd only get a day out of a front rotor

But the most popular pads for the C6Z caliper seem to be the CarboTech 1 piece pads. They are expensive but they last longer than the paddlets since there is more material there. I would ask Chris Ingle (White Knight) about what he's using on his T1 car, I know it's CarboTech just not sure what combo probably 12/10.

I understand about getting a "free" set by just buying the front pads, but the way I would look at it is how long they last. If you have to change pads (or rotors) at the track all the time then it's time to look for something that lasts a little longer and allows you more time in the car and less time working on it.

I run DTC70 from and HT10 rears on all Stoptech brakes on a C5. I was able to get 3 years out of a set of front rotors and my car gets driven hard.

I have tried Carbotech and Hawk but prefer the Hawks as every box of pads seems to be very consistent. Not something that I can say I got from the Carbotech pads as some were different. All were the XP12 compound.

DTC70 all around with powerslot rotors. Pads are very aggressive and do a number on the rotors but the rotors haven't cracked yet.

The 70's can run pretty hot. Spindle ducts does wonders for wear/life

Alcon TA4s Front 14" two piece rotor custom hats and Coleman rotors, Rears, Alcon H type and are 11.75" Hawk Rotors and custom hats. No ABS

Rears have lasted only replaced once, front rotors were lasting about half a season if heat cycled but at the time the hats were warped and they were dragging haven't fully tested with new set up.

What lasted a full season was the pads and when I replace after the end of last season I had a good 25% life left.

I race weight is about 3150-3250

+1 I boiled my motul 660 fluid without the spindle ducts. They make a huge difference. I will replace the DTC70's to carbotech next time around.
