No maintenance racing
Theose guys over in the off topic section have a GT5 series going & everything. I'm putting mine away as it has already cut into real car prep time but for 12$ worth of wood & a $50 game if you set the controls right its pretty real in 3D.

You could move it to my house for the rest of the winter

Nicely done! I've been playing a lot too, it's still way to cold here (costs to much to heat the shop in January).

Definitely go with iRacing and do it while you do your track prep

Good stuff! I haven't got that into it yet but I enjoy several racing games on the Xbox. Most recently I've been playing the F1 2010 game. I'm also checking on a couple racing games for the PC.
I think both of the car racing setups pictured would benefit from what Talon90 did for his at-home gaming....

Wow, that is a sweet set up for sure! home made?
I have tried R-Factor, not a big fan. Too complicated - I don't have time to download new files and unzip and all the stuff. GTR and GTR2 was on the same level and that was a decade ago.
I do want to try I-Racing so I can start getting some time at Mid-Ohio.
GT5 - I love it. It's art work in motion! It's not perfect - having to work to get the cool cars, but I have discovered B-Spec and let my two drivers get stuff while I am doing other things. I also had some non-SRT8 Chrysler 300 keeping up with my C5z with some mods in one race... Besides that, man what a great sim! I was driving a 458 Italia (modified) having this awesome battle with a Ferrari P4 and the sounds that car makes are glorious. I have a green c3 and it's a blast to try to drive something like that around the track... Talk about lean!
Need for Speed Shift has also suprised me - it's pretty damn good, plus is has Road America and Willow Springs... I have built and ST1/ST2ish C6 and I'm running 2:18's at Elkhart. That said, it does lean a bit toward the entertainment side...which is aok by me.

Seen a similar set up using pvc pipe. Thought it would be a good way to get some use out of FX1s during the winter as that is the only time I really play video games. Seems like I only have Forza 2 - they are probably on Forza 5 now. Good idea.
