Default Track events in Houston?

Anyone know of a good source of info for events in the Houston area? I moved down from Chicago and curious what's around here.
Thanks!

Howdy ! You're in luck !
Texas World Speedway (90 minutes north of Houston) has regular HPDEs plus regularly scheduled club and sanctioned events. Great road course (2.9 miles).
Motorsport Ranch is less than an hour south of Houston too.

There is Texas World Speedway in College Station, about 1.5 hrs away, which has monthly events. Check their website at www.texasworldspeedway.com. Its a great track.

NASA has an upcoming event at MSR Houston, a private track just south of town, in about 2 weeks. Check the NASA Texas Region website for details. There is also Harris Hill in San Marcos, http://harrishillroad.com/, about 2-2.5 hrs away, which will now have regular performance driving events run by the former chief steward at Texas World Speedway. And there is Grand Sport Speedway, http://grandsportspeedway.com, down in Hitchcock, Tx, which is about halfway between Houston and Galveston. They have regular track days available too. Hope this helps.

Welcome to our area! As the posters above have already said, there are lots of opportunities to get on the track in our area.

Hope to meet you out there soon!

Yep, Misty is now at H2R.

Go to clubregistration.net, click on events, and look under Revolution Precision Motorsport School for the links to her events.

Thanks very much for the info everyone! Looks like I have some good options. I miss being so close to Road America, but the fact that I don't have to park the car for 4 months each year and still have access to good tracks makes up for it

Thanks again!

The Driver's Edge, as Tom mentioned, is running MSR-H (45 minutes south of downtown) this weekend. Come by if nothing else! I'll be in the black C6Z in the red group.

They're also doing events at MSR-Cresson (~5 hours north, it's SW of Arlington) in February and at TWS in March. If you've never been to TWS before, it's FUN and FAST. Top speeds in stock motored C6Zs on R compounds in the 160+ range.

TWS also has a Motorsports club. There are a LOT of driving clubs around, and most of the other marque-related car clubs are open to all.

Not much of a Corvette racing club presence in town, though I think there are 7(?) Corvette clubs around town. Most all wax and shine.

I know it is not a track event, but you also have the Texas Mile.

As mentioned, there are a lot of local corvette clubs. Most are full of waxers and don't venture beyond the car shows and "dinner-cruises". The San Jacinto Corvette Club contains a "faction" of racers (~50) that are active at the area tracks. The SJCC sponsors local NCCC sanctioned regional time trials in which many partcipate. Great group of friendly folks. Monthly meeting first Friday at the La Quinta Inn West Loop near San Felipe. Link: http://www.sanjacintocorvetteclub.org/
