Default Best Bushings, Camber Plates, Tie Rods, and Ball Joints?

Hey guys,

I am getting ready to replace some suspension parts on my 02 z06.

I am looking to get some opinions on which of the following parts are the best option?

Bushings - Pfadt kit or VBP?

Camber plates - Pfadt or Hardbar?

Lower Ball Joints - OEM replacement or Pfadt?

Tie Rod Ends - OEM replacement or non-sealed with grease fittings (not sure who makes these)

The car sees about 1.5 street miles for every track mile and noise is not of any concern.

Thanks!

Hardbar kit is 11.5mm front and 13.5mm rear.
Pfadts kit includes several different offsets and is superior to the Harbar kit imo.

If you want to save some money on the camber kit, I have a custom built 10mm offset (front and rear) kit for $150.

What torque do you suggest with the lower CA's with the shims.
Any concern with crushing the Al shims if you run stock torque recommendations.

the huge assortment of open ended shims (front upper a-arm camber tweeking) along with the large selection of various offset camber plates..were why i chose the Pfadt kit (plus Im pissed at Gary at the moment).

Stock torque settings.
No way you can crush the aluminum block. It's 1/4" thick.

I don't want to hi-jack the thread but its a interesting discussion point.

Pfadt de-rates the torque with their kit on the lower CA's down to 80 ft lbs.
I'll look and see what the grade of the bolt they provided, but it's one of my wild cards on a rogue clunk I have and questioned whether there is enough torque being applied to the bolt.

Hey Stevensa, thanks for considering our products. We can tell you anything you need to know about our own products.

Are you thinking of doing a full control arm bushing kit? What other modifications do you have to the suspension/track prep? Are you running DOT tires?

Let me know when you get a chance, we can make some recommendations and help you out if you need it.

I would think 80 lbs ought to be way more than sufficient with a camber kit - given the way the camber plates lock things down.

I use the Pfadt bushings in my car, for many seasons now. They are very, very good. I'd use the spherical set up if my class permitted it.

I have the Hardbar camber plates, and they work fine. I found that when I went to stiffer bushings, I needed less camber too.

Guys,
If you are thinking about bushings you may want to hold off for a while. I have been working with Paul L. at Van Steel on developing an affordable Delrin bushing setup for C5's and C6's.
Racing my ST0 C6Z, I have experienced poly bushing stress and fatique, especially in the rear upper hat. Initial tests after the first 4 races this year and test days have shown awesome results. Production should begin soon.

P.S. I will not be selling these, my interest is the best I can have without going to $2K sphericals and wearing out ball joints prematurely.
