Default Taping radiator for downforce on C5?

This is for autocross only. C5. I know a splitter would be better, but with cost and low driveway just doesn't make it very practical. Would taping up the brake ducts and whatever I can get away with on the radiator create any downforce?

thanks,

Steve A.

The only data I have seen to support the taping was the SAE report and it was done at 120mph and it was not that much.

When you are chasing the C5 Mafia here in the SE all of it helps.

Most speeds are between 40-70mph. When you guys say "not much" gives me hope that it even works. Don't forget, we win and lose by hundredths and tenths most of the time. Twice I tied. They time to the thousands.

NASCAR does it for a MPH or even less at what speeds you will gain nothing. The difference will be like you eating breakfast or not, probably even less. Concentrating on fuel levels / weights would be better time spent. There are many other things to do. How exotic have you prepared the car in other areas like plain setup?

You can try it and it may make a placebo effect and you run faster.

Steve, Don Slayer was indicating he had a glass / composite guy the could do a splitter for under $100. You might want to talk with him.
