Default Hi! new sponsor here..

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/intr...post1576657706

That is our "intro" but since we are ROAD RACE guys, I thought we should say hi here. We raced in GRAND-AM with two 2010 Camaro GS.Rs last year, and this year it looks like we are going to run World Challenge.

We offer services from basic car setup (alignment, corner weighting etc) to full race car builds from scratch at our shop here in Lewisville, TX.

GRAND-AM allowed AST shocks absorbers into Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge this year, and we got involved with AST early and are VERY please with the results. An AST car actually won the first race of the year (congrats RumBum racing). We are an AST dealer, and for those of you that are serious about cornering performance these are second only to high end Penske shocks. We have worked with several shock engineers and they all agree the AST product although new to the US, performs well- and the track results speak for themselves.

We also offer driver and data coaching. We will be having an on-line Webinar in the coming months about generic chassis setup on race days, and some basics of using linear potentiometers and other sensors to setup your car.

We are proud members of Eagles Canyon Raceway just outside of Dallas, and offer very competitive rates on a day of testing and setup/data/driving advice.

Welcome aboard! We all are looking for that little edge.

Tested Penske double adjustables on a dyno and not really impressed.

It's more about who builds them. (we don't build them in house). But we have a really good guy that does. The AST stuff has been really good straight from AST USA.

One of the things people were doing to cheat in Koni Challenge was building Penske shocks inside of Koni Shocks.

Went to your site, kinda tough to get any info.

What prices are we looking at for the AST line of shocks? What options?

Thanks

Jordon,

Good to hear yall are still going strong! I'm sure you've learned a lot since I saw you at Daytona last year. Also glad to hear yall are still racing. I love being able to say that I raced that guy in club level karting when watching pro level stuff. Hope all continues to go well!

We are working on getting more parts information up. Most of our sales are very custom, so having information on the site is only the first layer- but we are working on it! Right now each and every set is custom to what you are doing.

We offer 3 basic version of the shock assembly

4100: (Commonly known as a single adjustable shock)
• Monotube design - gives the biggest piston sizes available
• Floating piston design with high pressure nitrogen means no cavitation around the piston
• Adjuster ***** permanently mounted on the dampers – no fumbling for *****
• Fully threaded strut bodies allow maximum tire width without fender rolling or larger spacers
• Rebuildable by AST-USA – get the valving you want, when you want it.
• Pricing starts at $1650 for struts and shocks (without springs)
• AST-USA provides a 12 month warranty on the 4100 Series shocks and dampers.
• Rebound Adjustable ("Singles")
• 22mm diameter shaft struts, non-inverted
• Steel cylinder body shocks, non-inverted
• Rubber bushings for "eye" shock mounts
• Optional spherical upper shock mount assemblies
• Non-synthetic hydraulic fluid

4200s: (Commonly known has an internally double adjustable)
• monotube design - gives the biggest piston sizes available
• Floating piston design with high pressure nitrogen means no cavitation around the piston
• Compression and Rebound adjuster ***** permanently mounted on the dampers – no fumbling for *****
• Fully threaded strut bodies allow maximum tire width without fender rolling or larger spacers
• Rebuildable by AST-USA – get the valving you want, when you want it.
• Rebound and Compression Adjustable, without reservoirs ("Internal Doubles")
• 22mm diameter shaft struts, non-inverted
• Aluminum threaded cylinder shocks, non-inverted
• Spherical lower "eye" shock mounts
• Optional spherical upper shock mount assemblies
• Synthetic hydraulic fluid
• Designed for racing classes that require any adjustment be internal ("no reservoirs")

And then the bad boys, which is what the GRAND-AM and WC teams run, the 5000 series. The 5100 is an entry level high end shock, which can be upgraded later to the 5200 and 5300 as budget allows. You will find 5300s on GRAND-AM cars

AST USA 5100 Shock Absorbers
AST USA 5100 Shock Absorbers
» High end, track ready suspension that is totally streetable
» Modular design - Fully upgradeable to 5200 or 5300 spec
» Rebound Adjustable ("Singles"), without reservoir
» Certain models will have remote reservoirs, for adequate travel
» 44.5mm diameter shaft struts, Inverted
» Aluminum cylinder, threaded body shocks, factory mounting style
» Shock may also be inverted, on some modes Ex. Corvette, Mini Cooper, VW GTI
» Spherical lower "eye" shock mounts
» Spherical upper shock mount assemblies
» Synthetic hydraulic fluid

5200:
» High end, race ready suspension that is totally streetable
» Modular design - Fully upgradeable to 5300 spec
» Rebound and Compression Adjustable ("Doubles"), with a remote reservoir
» Remote reservoirs allow additional travel and heat dissipation
» 44.5mm diameter shaft struts, Inverted
» Aluminum cylinder, threaded body shocks, factory mounting style
» Shock may also be inverted on some models Ex. Corvette, Mini Cooper, VW GTI
» Spherical lower "eye" shock mounts
» Reservoir with hose or piggyback (piggyback examples: ’08 STI & BMW E36 rears)
» Spherical upper shock mount assemblies
» Synthetic hydraulic fluid

And the 5300s:
» High end, track ready suspension that is totally streetable
» Rebound, Low & Hi Speed Compression Adjustable ("Triples"), with a remote reservoir
» Remote reservoirs allow additional travel and heat dissipation
» 44.5mm diameter shaft struts, Inverted
» Available with 50 and 60mm diameter Inverted shaft struts (special order)
» Aluminum cylinder, threaded body shocks, factory mounting style
» Shock may also be inverted on some models Ex. Corvette, Mini Cooper, VW GTI
» Spherical lower "eye" shock mounts
» Reservoir with hose or piggyback (piggyback examples: ’08 STI & BMW E36 rears)
» Spherical upper shock mount assemblies
» Synthetic hydraulic fluid

I hope that sheds some light. In addition we provide a high level of technical assistance to any of our customers purchasing products from us. That includes AST, and all the other manufactures we carry.
I do not think is it appropriate to discuss pricing in this technical forum, but I would be happy to discuss that if you wish to email me (JordonMusser@momentumracegroup.com)
I would be happy to answer any further technical questions of course

Jason.. yea, its a small world. Lots of ups an down, and we have learned a TON.

Although we don't generally sell Penske outright unless a customer asks- we do have access to the best Penske shocks builder for sports cars in the USA, imo. He does a lot of the GA/WC and higher end SCCA cars. So when you are ready for a rebuild/update keep us in mind!
