Shocks, C6 Z06 or Bilstein Sports or ???
My C5Z has just over 100k miles. I can feel that the stock shocks are worn out. I want to get some upgraded replacements to improve my handling abilities without breaking the bank. I wanted opinions/suggestions between choosing C6 Z06 shocks or Bilstein Sports (or a better substitution that I don't know about). I don't autocross the car or anything, I just want a firmer, better handling ride. Your help is greatly appreciated.

My next set will probably be from Pfadt. Shocks/sway/endlinks for $1000.

Bilstein Sports are cheaper then factory C6Z shocks? There is a forum vendor who sells 2011 C6Z shocks for $246.16(+tax/shipping I guess). The Bilstein's go for about $400 from forum vendors. Now, If you go with factory C5Z shocks, those are pretty pricey, up in the $700 range or so.
My next set will probably be from Pfadt. Shocks/sway/endlinks for $1000.

I can't really argue with that price...

I run the Bilstein Sport shocks and am very satisfied with them. They are stiffer than the stock Z shocks but will not pound the fillings out of your teeth on a rough road. They are going to cost you about $400 shipped. You will notice a huge improvement over your worn out 100K units. While you are under the car - check and replace as necessary sway bar bushings, end links, A arm bushings / ball joints and tie rod ends.

Bilstein would be my choice the OEM is a low bid item where a penny counts when they make them and bid to GM. Who makes the OEM shocks?

I like my Bilstein Sports compared to stock, but if you get them, don't forget to add a spacer on the top of the rear threaded shaft. Otherwise there will be too much play in the top of the shock and feel like wheel hop at the track.
