I think when I was talking to Gary @ Hardbar at PRI, his price included his fastner kit (which is a bit nicer than the OEM torx bolts).

I have bought mine from Pfadt because of the NASA contingency, usually using Pfadt cash towards such (and I need to order another one ).

My fronts and RR have lasted nearly 3 years of torture, so I can't complain.

You must have a very large racing budget. New bearings, new spoiler, new A6 255s....................... Tell me your secrets.

I'm trying to figure out how to better inspect them for issues. I currently do the following:

1. Drive the car on the street trying to listen for the tell-tale roaring, but with all the other noise it's tough w/o any carpet to dampen other sounds.

2. Remove the calipers/rotors and spin them and check for excessive play and/or any signs of cracking.

Anything else to look for? I know some of you guys say you can feel it on track, but I'm hard pressed to feel the difference between a loose hub and a greasy A6.

New bearings aren't happening just yet, just doing preliminary research. I have the originals off my car as spares, but they have lots of miles on them. When I prepped the car I put fresher <5000 mile take-offs from a 2004 Z06 on it.

4. My kitchen floor is still bare concrete from the kitchen remodel I mostly finished but got burnt out on

6. My guest bathroom is bare concrete (see above again)
7. My back yard needs a new fence, but random pieces of scrap plywood keeps my dumb yorkie from figuring out how to get through.

Those are my secrets

Yorkie? Guess you save on dog food too. Our Lab eats like a horse.

Usually it's the roar that signals it's time to change.

The wheel coming off is a pretty good clue also...

At least she didn't get you a cat.
For some reason, my GF (now the wife) gave me a cat 15 years ago because she thought I needed company when I lived alone out of town in an apartment. Those damn things live forever - I still have it.

Anyway, about the bearing. I had one go bad on me this weekend. It started in the mock race on Friday and I didn't realize it. I had a horrible brake vibration that only showed up after 2 or 3 laps. It felt like it was in the rear because I felt it mainly in the pedal. I ran qualifying Saturday - same thing. It wasn't until the race Saturday that I knew what the deal was. Since we can scrub tires under the double yellow before the race, I heard the tell-tale moaning noise when turning left. I knew it had to be the R/F bearing since I had just swapped the R/R after VIR. I ran the whole race and luckily the wheel didn't fall off.
Changed the R/F bearing after the race and all was good for Sunday.
BTW - the old bearing felt tight, had no play and didn't sound gritty. I guess it had to get hot before it started to wobble.
Who knows...
