Default Removing OEM belts ?

I am about to put in new seats and 6pt belts in a 98 coupe. Can you remove the OEM belts? And if so can something be done about the belt light (dash)? Thanks

Since it's a C5 once you unplug the stock seat it won't register the MIL for the seat belt not being buckled.

Street car? You're going to wear 6pts all the time?

If you are going to drive the car on the street with the 6 PT belts, you are not legal. The 6 PT harnesses are not DOT approved and you leave yourself open to a citation if stopped for another infraction. They would be a PITA for everyday usage anyway.
