Get the Brey Krause mount that bolts to the front 2 bolts of your seat, I tried mine in a few different places but once I'm strapped in with my harnesses and wearing my Helmet and neck brace, I couldnt reach any other location. If there really is a need for it, I want to be able to grab it as I get the F>>> out of my car.. these little extinguishers dont do much.. but maybe buy a minute till the bigger extinguisher shows up.

I used it for a couple of track days last year before I switched to a C5 with a dedicated fire system. $50 shipped if you're interested.
I also have this halon extinguisher mounted in it:

There really isn't a good place to mount one. If you try to mount it to the bulkhead behind the seat you have to be careful about drilling holes since there is a gas line behind the bulkhead. Even when mounted there it is still hard to turn around ane grab the extinguisher. I use the BK mount attached to the front of the passenger seat. No way that I can reach it there even without my belts on but it meets the rules of the one organization that I run with that requires one. I tried mounting it in front of the driver's seat but it was still hard to reach (funny how that steering wheel keeps you from bending very far) and I kicked it getting in and out of the car. One time I actually hit it just right to release the quick release tie downs. Didn't realize it until I was braking for turn 9 at Watkins Glen and found I had a fire extinguisher bouncing around my feet. Luckily, they had just added a lot more run off room at that turn and I used it as the extinguisher was definitely interfering with the brake.
Where ever you mount one you definitely want a sturdy mount so the extinguisher doesn't become a missile inside the car during an incident.

Well, it looks like I'll mount it to the front of of the driver seat. I have the stock seats ,
so if I can't reach it I can get out and reach in and grab it. Thank for the help.

buy locally in California
If you haven't already ordered one of the B K mounts, may I suggest try contacting Monty and his brother Steve @ Livermore Performance. Monty drives a vette on the track, while his brother tracks a mustang.
I try ordering everything through them and they are spot on so far for me. Plus they are good old boys from Montana. If you call, tell em Dirk referred you to them.
