I've got a copy of it on my laptop, and watch it occasionally, but didn't have the YouTube link.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Funny as that is... At the Feb Willow Springs double national another Miata driver did a repeat. After being held for fueling on grid (not allowed), he proceeded to pass every car he could on the warm up lap, and nearly took out a couple of cars that were not expecting a maniac to blast pass them on the warm up. He stayed out on track for the entire race, and was promptly given a DSQ for his actions - I hope there was also points put on his license for being a tool.

you don't mess around with Grid Workers (especially if it is SCCA). Present company excluded, but they can be power hungry A-holes, and if it comes to the chief steward, THEY will always win!
Even if they are wrong, just go along......

He should have gone out exactly where the grid marshall told him and thank his lucky stars he picked up a position. The purpose of the splitter in track is to designate which lane you're in. I'm speaking NASA here, I don't know about SCCA, but I'd guess it's as stringent or even more so.

First I find it unbelievable the grid lady held him up for all those positions. Why? Power hungry? Then the bizzare and dangerous trek of running through the grid, Geez!

If you can not get you stuff together in that amount of time you deserve to be at the back. Grid positions can change from the time you last looked at Qual results, often times cars don't make the race, you need to know what to do in those cases... Step 1, do what the grid workers tell you. Its really not that difficult.
