How many tracks days from 75% R6s?
I have a set of 18x10.5 dedicated track wheels to use for HPDEs now. I was going to evaluate different tires to see which worked best but I have decided to just focus on driver mod now. $580 for set of 75% R6s or ~$1000 for set of new Invos/R888s/NTs/Kuhmos? Would Invos/R888s/NTs/Kuhmos last 2x as long as 75% R6s? Mostly do VIR/RD Atl. If Invos/R888s/NTs/Kuhmos are way to go, thoughts on wear of each would be appreciated also. TIA.

How much negative camber do you plan on running with the R6's, that is a major factor in extending useful tire life. Check the date code on the R6's, $580 does not sound super cheap.

Hoosiers like negative camber as mentioned... so if you are running -1.5 to -2.5 on a HPDE pace (4x 20 min sessions) then you should be able to get 6 good days out of R6's... so with them at 75%, call it around 4 more days out of them. Depending on the track they were run at and where you are running, you may see more wear on 1 tire than the others. When I buy my scrubs, I plan on getting 3-4 good days out of them
Btw, How was the 75% measured? By wear or by heat cycles?
I cant help with the wear on the other tires, as Ive only used R6's, Pirelli and Dunlop Slicks and Nitto 555RIIs

I always got much better wear out of Kumho 710s than I did any Hoosier. Ones with 3 or 4 heat cycles on them wouldn't perform as well as a new Hoosier but they lasted a lot longer.

Depends on driver and car but when you hammer them 12 20 minute sessions and I would be happy with me. Someone else could easily double that. It comes down to how abusive you are in the car. If you lap times are near the top for a circuit in a vette then they expire fast. Even new there is 3/16 rubber till they cord IF I remember correctly. It is not much at all and it use to be on Hoosiers web site but a bit hidden.

I think for a DE track tire you would be much better off finding some Kumho scrubs for about $50 each, they will give much more consistent life than the hoosiers. I would never pay almost $600 for scrubs. Even if the wear is '75 percent' that tire could have significantly less grip as compared to a new tire.

and I have no clue how anyone really knows their 75% because they look good at the wear holes then bingo there are the cords with scrubs.

The next question to ask yourself is:
Now that you have a dedicated set of track wheels and tires, do you actually have a dedicated track only car?
If the answer is no; that you will still drive the car on the street with street tires you have some choices:
1. Get two alignments for every track weekend. Just before to put the aggressive settings in and just after to put the street settings on. This will maximize your performance and tire life.
2. Run a street alignment and chew up tires at the track.
3. Run a track alignment and chew up tires on the street.
I went all in and sold my street car a long time ago. Bought a high-mileage C5 and use it for track only. But that requires a trailer, an RV, etc.
It's all fun, but you should know the trade-offs before finding out the hard way.

I have like -1.5/-1.55 camber in the front and -1.0 in the rears. Tires will be for track only and square all around.

I can basically get 2 sets of these for price of Invos/R88s/710 etc. I am currently running 2:20s at VIR on worn R888s but looking to do better. I am thinking with upgraded driver mod I can get lower times with better tire wear. I got 2 1/2 track days on scrub R888s for $300 incl shipping and mounting. Maybe that is the way to go. Just don't know.

As a point of reference, 10 years ago I had a 2001 Z06 at VIR. With the old Hoosier R6's I could run 2:15s with a best time of 2:14.
I ran an aggressive alignment because the car wasn't my daily driver. So you can definitely improve on your times. The only downside is the addiction. I now have a dedicated track car, an RV, and a trailer!
I think you are going to have fun either way.

I was chasing all these guys around Millers east track last Saturday

I bought a set of R6 275s and 315s 18s last year that had about 75% tread. They've lasted me 6-8 HPDE and some AX events. They are good for one or two more events. My brand new DBA 4000 rotors cracked before the tires were done.
Hoosiers are crack for sure! Sticky, very little play in the walls, great overall feel. Can't go wrong with them.

but it never happens for me My friend just bought some with mount and balance it's near 1800 for his C6Z even 6 days is 300 per day! Economy better come back soon!

It's probably like getting to center of a Tootsie Pop, going to be different for everybody I can't imagine scrubs lasting 6-8 days of 5 or 6 25 minute sessions per day
