Shift light install - Need help badly
Using these instructions to install the Raptor single mode shift light.

I'm getting really tired of this. Feels like I'm on a wild goose chase.
I have no dash in the car so I literally have the wires staring me in the face. What am I doing wrong?

Test light hooked to positive battery post
Probing all 3 of the only white wires in the harness - definitely probing through the sheathing to the wire.
No movement in tach needle whatsoever.

Since the engine speed signal is presumably a voltage signal to the tach, I would expect to hook up the light to the negative pole on the battery. The way you have it hooked up, it should never light unless the signal is a ground.

I'm still trying to figure out which of the 3 white wires is the tach signal wire.
Supposedly, the tach needle should jump when the correct wire is probed.

No HUD in my car.
There is a shift light in the cluster, but the diameter of my new steering wheel is so small that it covers it and the tach needle.
I can shift by ear, but it's hard to hear my engine with the roar of the other cars at the start of a race.

I just kept the power port and use that for the Traqmate. Just another option. You could also just tap 12V switched power from the ignition like you have to do when you install an aftermarket head unit (stereo)

I've read that before, but mine definitely was not. All 3 wires were white as can be. Took forever to find the right one, but it's all working now. Just have to figure out where to mount it. It's amazingly bright - really too bright.

Couldn't you guys get the signal off of the ECU or whatever that computer is called? That's where we tapped my TM into.

Yeah the instructions say to tap into the ECM, but I heard it was easier to do it at the dash. And since I don't even have a dash, it would have been gravy for someone who actually knew what they were doing.

I agree with you, they all looked white.
