Default Video of Chin Event at Sebring this Saturday

Here is a video of the Chin event at Sebring this Saturday. Shot with my new GoPro HD mounted inside the windshield with the Suction Cup mount. No converting was done, just ran through Traqstudio to sync data and video. JD

Very cool video.

Wish I was closer to Sebring, I'd love to try it some day.

Thanks for posting.

Awesome... I really need to learn how to sync up my TraqMate data with my video stuff. I already have the Traqmate setup with the in-car display unit, do I have to buy something else from them to do this? Do you sync up after the fact or does your camera connect to your Traqmate GPS module while your taping?

TraqStudio, Trackvision, and/or Race Render should all work.
I need to do this myself for 2011.

nice looking video....nice wide view.

I must agree on the downshifts though.....gotta slow the car down a bit before you start banging the gears........

Thanks Dave and Rustyguns, I know, I checked all of the data from the weekend and I'm still getting to the gears to soon on the down shifts. I have to work harder at it or I will be buying another engine. JD

Traqstudio is a $199.00 software package that sync's the data and video after you are done. It allows you to move the data and video so they are in unison with each other. The nice thing is you don't have to convert the video from the GoPro to do it. You can also change the view of the data on the screen and screen layout. And print Titles and that sort of thing. It is not editing software but it does allow you to pick the time frame of the complete video that you want to use as the final video clip, which saves you having to do separate editing. You can buy Traqstudio from Traqmate. JD

Yeah didn't you blow up your first engine from downshifting too early on the front straight at VIR

I use Trackvision for my videos/data overlay, but I saw Race Render the other day and it's only about $30, and would probably buy that if I wasn't already invested.

B. is your video independent of Traqmate or so you have the Traqmate integrated camera?

Seperate... I just use a Sony with Mini-DV tapes. It takes very nice video, but I'm probably going to break down and get a Go-Pro since I'm tired of how long it takes to captuer and edit the clips.

The tape cameras are a real PITA for downloading.

When you go to a SD type camera, then look at the Race Render -www.racerender.com.

It's a stand alone video editor that overlays your Traqmate data on any video after the fact. And the cost is $35. It allows split screen and picture in picture.

nice video and lap time JD. R u coming to Sebring this weekend? I'll be instructing both days and would love to see your system. I'm interested in getting the whole system w/ camara. IS it better (read easier to sync later) to get the new HD camera with the advertised "complete system? thanks JD
