I've had good luck with Jasper engines. You could also try Contemporary Corvettes in PA.

Retail at Jasper is around $5,000.00, Dealer price several hundred less. They dont have any in stock, the core fee is $900.00 if the block is damaged. 5 days to build one once they have a buildable unit.

Wally, you know.......... this might be a great time to get a LS7 so you can get the power you need to come SCCA racing in STO. THen you can bring a "gun to the gunfight"

He just got nearly 7 years out of that motor.... LS7 drop crack springs, drop valves, and spin bearings if you look at them funny

Bob, only reason I don't go for bigger power is that I can't afford a dry sump setup. My goal is reliability and on the cheap.

After making numerous phone calls I've come to the conclusion that these $3200 deals for an Ls6 don't exist anymore... Had any luck Wally?

The Caddy ones are on THE AUCTION SITE for $4450 minus an $800 core charge = $3650 + $175 shipping = $3825. Of course you will need to add the cost of shipping back the core. All told, you would be in for about $4000, and they have them in stock and ready to ship.

I've bought 8 in the last year from Dahmer. They have gone from $3,150 to $3,500 and now $4k delivered. As everyone gets low on these, the prices keep rising.

Wally,
The motor in my Firebird is a cammed LS6. I'm parting that car out. I also have an LS1 w/ all the good parts making even more HP. That motor has just been rebuilt and is still on the stand. Email or PM for prices.

How the hell do you get pistons in upside down? You mean they had the thrust side facing the wrong direction.
