Big Bang from rear end, now grinding ????
I came in from my last session at Mid Ohio and as I was making a sharp right turn into the garage, I heard a loud bang from the rear of the car.
Pulled it in and then moved it back and forth about 5' or so and was fine.
Pulled straight onto the trailer with no problems. Got home, backed it out of the trailer and then drove it down the street through gears 1-4 and was fine.
Went to turn around in parking lot to back into my garage and loud noise and clunking from rear when I put it in reverse. Pulled forward about a foot and the same thing. Then very very slowly pulled forward and it was fine. Pulled it into the garage where it now sits. Seems to be right rear but not sure
Any ideas on what this could be??
Thanks

If you still have a parking brake, the stupid shoe spring may have popped out. Happened on mine, and sounded like the diff was shot. Problem is you have to take the freakin' hub out to replace nicely - there is a write-up here with a "zip tie" technique. I couldn't get it to work.

I just took the rotor off and found a part bound up with a lot of damage to the dust shield etc.
That could very well be it and I am certainly hoping so
Thanks
