Got the roof off... don't try this at home...
She's a convertible for the time being... The glass guys came over to pull the windshield and rear glass. When they got the glass out I asked them if they had any advice as to which tool I could use to best attack the front and rear roof adhesive. Guys says "hold on".... goes and gets this fancy custom sawzall and gets to work. With my help we had the roof off in 15 minutes. I had already cut the b-billar bar out with my sawzall and cut-off wheel last week. There's no way I'd have been able to cut the adhesive w/o his custom sawzall. Sure I could have used my little cable saw or a heated up utility knife, but it'd have taken all weekend and even then I may have not been able to make a full cut and get the roof free.

I'm 6'4" 240 so your typical C5 cage doesn't work for me. Roof off allows the main hoop to take the place of the factory halo and make the cage as roomy as possible. Plus it makes the cage builder's job a good deal easier.

he is right about that. I never had a car that my head didn't tilt to one side because it was resting against a bar. While the OEM roof would have fit over my main hoop, it was tucked up much higher, and my side bars swing out much wider. Combined with a Kirkey seat sitting on the floor, I'm nowhere near the bars.
In my case, the car was a coupe, and the rear hatch and glass weighed a ton. I had planned on putting it back on until I realized how much weight I could save.
AND I Prefer "El-Corvette-Amino Convertible"
