Default Braided brake lines question

Anyone have experience with LAPD/C6 Heavy Duty Upgraded Stainless Steel Braided or Russell Stainless Steel or another?

I will do 4 -6 track days this year but mostly street use. Any experience would be helpful.

IMHO, Russell stuff is garbage. I bought a set for my old 92 some years ago and they were too short. Couldn't even go full lock at the front before the line stretched out tight. The braiding was cheap and the ends appeared to be fairly thin.

I have a set of Earl's stainless lines on my 87 that I got from Summit Racing. They have been there for 4 years and show no signs of wear or leaking. When I upgraded the front brakes to C5 calipers, the same lines fit the C5 caliper with no problems. These lines are long enough that there is still some flex at full lock.

Goodridge is another brand that is popular here. Tire Rack has them as do some of the other supporting vendors. While you're at it, get a set of Speed Bleeders for the calipers. Given the number of track days you intend on doing, these will make brake bleeding/flushing very easy. Again, use the brand name "Speed Bleeders", not the Russell bleeders.

I use stoptech, which is the same quality as goodridge. SS lines with great quality fittings, and copper washers.

Paul,

I use the Goodridge lines and am very happy with them. BTW, I still have my speed bleeders (never used) if you want them. I prefer the Motive bleeder

I've got the Russell SS lines (C6ZO6). No problems at all.
