After 4 years of tracking, this weekend will be my first 2 day event! Before I got my race seats, one day pretty much wore me out. Just curious if there is anything different or additional I should bring? I trailer so I will have extra vehicle. I am thinking a car cover, 2 qts of oil, extra hub and wheel studs. Anything else? Do you guys stay overnight at track? Any problems leaving car/trlr/equipment overnite? My R888s are at the wear indicators but I think I can get 2 days from them. I have my street BFG KDs for back up. Actually here is my checklist:

Stuff To Bring (Highly Recommended):
• HELMETS and Gloves
• Paperwork (completed)
• Required clothing (long sleeved shirt and cotton long pants)
• Listing of Computer Codes
• Tire pressure gage
• Tire air compressor w/fix-a-flat
• Engine oil (1-2 quarts)
• 1 container of brake fluid
• Brake bleeding equipment (tube/bottle, etc.)
• Duct tape
• Fire extinguisher
• WD-40
• Paper towels / rags / wipes
• Cotton towel for yourself
• Torque wrench w/ socket
• Brake pads repl tools – 16mm wrench, 21mm socket(bracket), 15mm(pads)
• Other tools (sockets, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, etc...)
• Contact paper w/scissors
• Windshield cleaner

Water. I freeze a case of water then just throw it in the cooler. It keeps my beer cold and I always have a cold bottle of water.

Short-Throw

An extra hub is a good idea, but make sure you have a front and a rear.

I only have one, but I thought the front and rears were same?

You can have beer there. Frozen water is great idea for cooler.


Is that the size for back of the caliper pin? I use an adj for that but now I know.

Event packet says camping is allowed, so sleeping in truck is OK?

I'd take more than 2 quarts of oil.... I literally take everything. I have 2 large plastic tubs I fill with all my spare parts and fluids and crap.

If you take spare hubs make sure you take the tools to swap them... I almost forgot my axle nut socket once.

VIR has wifi so if you have a laptop you'll have forum access and access to any code info etc. you need.

I sleep at the track often, VIR has great facilities. The only annoying thing is the super cold AM walk from the trailer to the bathroom/showers, but that shouldn't be an issue this time of year.

No... my car is going in for a cage on May 1st. Just finished doing all of the prep work. Should have it back on track for June @ Road Atlanta.

You will have a blast at VIR.

I'm sure you know VIR is a fairly technical track, studying it before hand helps. Most every turn is variable radius/camber with elevation changes and several blind sections so it's worth time studying video before hand enough where you can visualize a lap.

R888s are at wear marker and I have a new set of BFGs on my street wheels for back up. Tried to get some R6 scrubs but none available. Thanks for the Krause link. That is pretty detailed. Printed it out to take with me. Did not know about the wi-fi, so laptop definitely. Got fresh ATE in last night. Pads, rotors, seats, fire ext and greasing slide pins tonight.
