Re: Need expert exhaust advice
What mufflers???
On a C4 Melrose headers and pipes.
What are the recommendations.
Lean towards Borla but seems only NOPI see them in Atlanta?
Language barrier issues?

Only experience I have with C4 exhaust is the Corsa system my buddy has on his '96 GS. Super nice as all Corsa stuff is. Has a wonderful tone at WOT w/o any drone at cruise.

I had Corsa on my LT4 street/track car, but if you want to save some weight (it was a heavy sucker) you would probably be better off having a muffler shop fab up a custom system & would likely spend less than what a Corsa will run. IIRC mine was over $1,000.
Looked & sounded great & yes NO DRONE.

What db level are you shooting for?
I'm pretty sure for all but Roebling mine is "quiet" enough (90ish):
383, stainless works headers, bullet cats, dual pipes to stock LT1 mufflers
When I finally realize mine will never see the street again I'll pull the cats and have a racing muffler of some kind with tips I can rotate to meet noise regs.
And WHEN ARE WE GONNA SEE THAT BEAST on the track???????????

If this is true track-only, why waste the weight on a full length exhaust? Have it dump in front of the rear wheels and put a race muffler or two on there.

I am converting my car to track only this year my exhaust exits right under the diff. I have headers to bullet cats (from when it was on the street which are now my "race mufflers") to straight pipes and turn downs by the differential.

June NASA event. Depends on what breaks during break in?
I wonder what sort of restriction AMP will have? That and Skip Barber will probably be it?
I am of the opinion noise does not equal power.
The pipes allow for racing muffles behind the x-pipe I have seen some that are 4" in diametrs and seems they will fit?
Not exactly main stream but that is where they belong.

Getting close to pushing that button. Just that nagging doubt over the sound? I don't want NASCAR loud?

I'm a big Magnaflow fan! All 3" pipe.
If I where to do it again, and I probably will at some point, I'd just run it straight out the back and modify the rear bumper accordingly.
I do get a lot of compliments on the sound...

Basically I took a 180 degree pipe and cut it to make a turn down, but it doesnt go any lower than the pipe it is attached to. I dont have pictures now because my drivetrain is not in the car.
