Default V710 tire question

I bought a set of rims late last year for my '04 Z06 for track days and they have V710's on them. The tires look to be in really good shape with no wear. Since they have set all winter how do I determine if they are still Ok to run on the track? If still good I would like to use them up before I put on some Hoosier A6's.

V710's seem to have much better long term aging health than Hoosiers. While not knowing the full details...I probably wouldn't hesitate to use them just for the seat time.

Check the date codes on the tires to see how old they really are. Check carefully for any indication of dryrot or other deterioration. I picked up a set that had been setting in a garage unmounted for three years. They were fine - still very sticky - ran them till they corded. Gut level is that you will be fine - run them.

Great timing on this thread. I too am running some older V710's. Not to hijack the thread, but what's the best hot pressure.

Thanks

Picked up a set of thin spokes with Nitto NT 01s with a build date of 04. Seller had no clue, but since my purpose was to use them for the street and keep the OEM wheels for track purposes I didn't care. Visually the tires looked great with no evidence of cracks or dry rot, but they have next to zero grip! They're great for drifting if that's your thing, and if nothing else they're good for holding up the car, but if they're more than 3 years old, they may be disappointing at the track.
