Default LS7 vs LS6 Dry Sump System Compatability

I have a LS7 motor that is coming out of my recently deceased Camaro. It has a full 4 stage ARE dry sump set up on it. I am looking at a C5 Corvette that has a LS6 non dry sumped motor in it now. I was wondering if the dry sumps would be compatible. I think the pan is a 4005 ARE pan. Will it work on an LS6? Maybe just a new pan? Thanks

Pretty sure all you need is a new pan.

I know that the 1005M pan works on both the LS6 and the LS7... but for the 4005... uncertain.

What did ARE say?

I think I misquoted what I have...might be the 1005. I will call them when I get closer to buying. Thanks.

I've got a complete C5 chassis I'll probably never get to that I might consider selling.

You are a stud looking for a new car already! I will be selling one of my vettes after this season, but not sure which one (T1 or ST2). Now would also be a good time to think about what class you want to run in. Are you planning on staying in ITE and super v8? You could always join ST2 or T1 . I talked to Gary at ARE a couple weeks ago when my dry sump pump failed and he was very friendly and helpful.

complete frame. Still has the rear tub, floors, and rocker panels. F/R crossmembers are there also, however I may keep the front one. Looks like someone put a jack under the skid bar, but if building a race car that won't be used. Actually, if I were doing it the entire rear tub will go in the trash as well as a good portion of the front framerails. Not to mention the floors. I also have a door and rear bumper cover, but again, race car will typically use lighter panels. I've got steering rack as well gone through by turn one and never used. I may have a couple of factory spindles and hubs as well as other various pieces.

Maybe not a stud...but I never claimed to be smart....

I would be interested in the ST2 car if you still have it. I would like to stay in the ITE/AV8 world if I can. I have seen a GT1 car that is cheap though and am tempted.....

If you have a LS6 you really don't need the dry sump. The C5 LS6 is a tank (by tank I mean rock solid) spin it to 7200 rpm and save time and $$$$. Save the dry sump for an LS3/7 or sell it. LS6's are gods gift to road racers beat it like a rented mule.
