Default suggestions for refreshing a LS6

Getting the LS6 from the 2001 z06 refreshed, any suggestions to do while we are at it? It is going into my sons 944 Turbo with trackdays in mind. Any head work? cam maybe? had 110K on it when it came out last summer. thanks for any help

Change the oil, timing chain and valve springs.
Depending on what rpm you plan to run at switch to an ATI damper and upgrade the rod bolts.

I know this is a vette forum but please post up pics of the 944 LS conversion when done. 944 is a great platform but it always needed more power.

What to refresh all depends on condition when motor came out of the car. Was it solid with good compression on all cylinders and not burning any oil ?? If that's the case then Geerookies suggestions would be all that I would do. Bad compression or oil burner then you have to open it up, survey needs, and go from there.

thanks for the suggestions guys, it was a very strong running motor up to the day it came out, it ran a 136:xx.x on Millers west track the second to last day I ran it until the rear diff went out and I was bouncing of the rev limiter on every right hand turn. I didn't do a compression test but it seemed to running fairly stout.
