Default ARE or Aviaid for a Dry Sump in T1

Anyone else have opinions / experience with Aviaid versus ARE for the Dry Sump in T1 (2008 C6 Z51 LS3)?

Both John Schwarz of AVAID and Gary Armstrong of A.R.E. are straight shooters. They use each other's parts for some of their kits.

Only Aviad and ARE are legal in T1.

I just installed the Aviaid T1 kit on my LS3. John from Aviaid has been amazingly helpful.

I would have assumed so. But the kits will have different charactersistics.

Which one is - Easier to install? Requires removal of AC (not an issues for T1)? Require engine R&R for install? Tank fits easily inside fender? etc...? What real-life experience have people had?

How easy was the install, ie how much time did it take? Did it require an engine R&R? Any other signifiant obstacles?

None of the full dry-sump install are easy. Complicated, time-consuming and expensive!

The motor was out of my race-care which made install much easier.

Not sure what you mean by right hand but here is mine on LS7 block.
Why is the Dailey not T1 legal?

He has a left-hand setup and is working on right -hand.

We won't have to alter motor mounts with the right-hand version - when it's available.

SCCA rules specifically state a choice of Aviaid or ARE only. Why, I don't know. Those are the rules as they stand now.

It would be a great help to allow a smaller tank. The current legal tank is a bitch to get in and service. A smaller (OD) tank or another vendor's tank should be an option but I would rather have to struggle installing a tank then not have a dry sump. My pump installed whre the air compressor was. Running the oil lines from there to the tank took some time and required playing with the right motor mount. I am using the smallest aftermarket motor mounts I can find. They are no larger around then a hockey puck. I installed my system in the car. I dropped the front crossmember and installing the pan was easy. I did have issues with front blancer removal, special tool needed and installing the ATI balancer. I still have a small drip from the front seal that I am waiting until I have the motor out to fix. I installed my remote oil filter inside the drivers fender.

Have fun

Which system did you go with. Aviaid or ARE? 3-stage or 4-stage (sounds like 4 from your explanation)?

Regards...

Which are...what?

Looking to buy one myself...so far the only advantage is that AVAID has more info on thier website

Cost is pretty similar for both suppliers, I assume?

Which pan is recommended, is the modified LS2 pan adequate? Which sump tank is better, 8, 10 or 12 qt?

Also, why do both AVAID and ARE only mention LS1, 6, and 7? Where's my LS2 on the list? I can only assume it's the same kit but where is the luv?

Thanks guys!
