Video of young (HS Senior) Bobby Kennedy winning overall at the SCCA Daytona
classic 5/14 & 5/15. the car is our LS1 powered tube frame Monte Carlo (about 480 fwhp). Bobby beat all the GT1's, SPO's etc. The car that got by him about 3/4 the race is Brian Goldburgs 427 Panoz GTS.
Bobby got back by Brian with about a lap to go. They had a great race.

Short-Throw

Nice patience in the beginning to avoid trouble and nice patience in the end making the pass inside to regain first. Looks like it took a short little while to get the tires up to temp. In car cameras always make it seem like the car is going slower than it really is.

I assume that silver Camaro that spun in the beginning had the pole. That'd have to feel like a kick in the ******* for the crew and driver to spin in T1 after earning the pole.

1:57.1 best, new SPO record due to track repavement.

This really just a GTA car, with a 750 carb instead of the 650 and a bit light as Bobby weighs nothing. The GTA track record is about 1:58.5.

Tom Keleher was on the pole in his GT-1 Camaro, something broke in the rear on entry to one. Tom came back on Sunday, had to start last and came home with a third overall and first in GT-1. He had the race fast lap at something like 1:56.1. His car is similar to a 90's Riley-Scott TA car with a 600 HP motor.
