Default Nissan GT-R beaten by VW Jetta

sub title: Who cares?

Want a super car? For $90,000 (7,200,000 yen) (35,700 euro) you can get a Nissan GT-R or for $19,000 (1,5200,000 yen) (13,236 euro) you can get a Mazda 3 or a VW Jetta.
Which is faster?
The VW Jetta! Talk about bang for the buck. (or yow for the yen) (or ? for the euro)
(I know the Mazda or Jetta will easily top 120 mph)

From June 12 Wall Street Journal review of Nisan GT-R
"How smart is this car? On public roads the top speed is a mere 112 mph.
It will go its top speed of 196 only when the navigation system informs the
car that it is on a Nissan approved racetrack."

GT-R is no joke. I saw one on street tires at Summit in early April, many grid positions behind several C5Z's and C6's in an advanced group. The GT-R advanced positions and passed most of the Corvettes.

I started behind one at VIR a few weeks ago--I couldn't really keep up.

We've had a few come to our track days. They're insanely quick. The running joke is that the driver calls Japan to tell them what laptime they want to run and the car is controlled remotely by some kid in front of a computer screen over there.

I would love to see one on track. If I get my car going I pray for one. I'd like to see some of their track times posted.
