Default Great Racing This Weekend at Road America!

Two promising races this Saturday, with Grand Am first followed by the Nationwide race. Whether you like NASCAR or not, the Nationwide race there last year was one of the best races one could watch. Again this year they have lots of "road course ringers" coming in to drive the Nationwide cars - the field will have some incredible talent. I can't wait to watch every minute of both races, only wish I could be there!

Consider yourself lucky that I did not "move in" at the garage for the month, just so I could stay over long enough to watch these races......

Default Lap with Alex Gurney

Here is an interesting ride with Alex Gurney (driver of the 99 Gainsco DP car) in the Camaro Pace Car in the rain. Great commentary; in the DP cars 175 before T1, 150 through the kink..... YIKES!

DP cars in practice; 2:03

And a really interesting written turn by turn description in a DP car;

The big off at the start of the race for the GT car was really scary. Having just come from running there, it made me think about how I prayed the brakes would be there every single time at the end of the long front straight - very high speed and a high pucker factor.
