Painted and ready for a shake down
19 months of tinkering and it looks like we might actually make a track date? August at Road Atl?
Sure seems hot, but we finally got the car ready for a shake down.

My guess is we smack a wall first trip out!!!

Looks great!! Dont need to break records the first time out, just ease up to the limit. Next we need pictures on track!

No hope of that.
Two of the three driver's are going to Bondurant's 3 day school, so they will be experts!
The other is a drag racer who supplied 450Hp when I have 300Hp brakes........ ? Say Hello to that Kitty Litter!!
Three coats of Clear coat should keep it pretty for a while turn 12 incidents excluded? !!!

This is the best view.
The builder is a hard core Drag race builder, Frank Barnett. SFI Certified and all. Here in Metro Atlanta. He has a speed shop in Atlanta.
It's a pretty stout unit. Based on 3500lbs though we are down to 2900 lbs w.o. gas.

Definitely looks like a time consuming, but thorough build. Good luck!
Can C4's handle as well as C5's? Seems like the initial cost would be substantially lower with the older generation. Especially when the motor pops...

1-25241 X
27.5" X 15.5" high x 3" deep $175.00+ frt.
Griffin has dozens of sizes. Mounting them can be a challenge.
The tires are Nitto NT05.. they look like that...
I haven't driven them on the track but my partner in racing drove my mostly stock '89, last June, and made 1:55's laps times at Road Atlanta.

As far as a platform, I think C4 is ideal.
Cheap going in. $2,000 for a roller. Best parts are available ..
I sold the filthy '84 front suspension and the 3:07 Dane 36 for $900.00 to a Hot Rodder. The 4+3 for another $1,100.00 [ very clean ???]
I bought the 92 front end & the 94 Dane 44 with C beam for $1750.00. ZF cost $900 with bell housing.
I have a 1.75 turn to turn Rack from Rock Auto at $175.00
A ZO7 front spring, Z51 rear.
Everything is adjustable [ not necessarily good but forgiving ], and the motors can do anything an LS can do, albeit a bit heavier.
C5 Z06 Brakes bolt on for another $350 and a reworked Master cylinder with a proportioning valve, and it's pretty close to a C5.
HP?? how much you want? Race motors at 450Hp are $3,996.00+ frt with a 30 day guarantee...? That's about 100Hp more than you need. You can choose cam and compression. These thing make their power from 4500RPM to 6000.
So I should pull close to pulling 2 g's and can maybe scrub off the speed with those brakes
Investment?? Under $13,000. I can't by a POS C5 for that.
