Are Cardone remanufactured steering racks any good?
I think that the pinion gear assembly in my rack is bad. I called Turn One and asked if they rebuild this part of the rack and they said probably not because the internals are hard to find. So I need to find a core with a good pinion gear assembly. I am checking some salvage yards but am also looking at remanufactured racks.
Has anyone ever use a Cardone remanufactured steering rack with good success?

Detroit Speed Engineering now has aftermarket racks. I am not sure about the applications but I will be checking with them when needed. They certainly do products well.

I would not recommend a Cardone rack. There is no guarantee that they actually rebuild them. They usually just clean and paint junk yard parts.

I let Stacy drive my vette last weekend at Putnam. She seemed to really like it so maybe they will start a line of products for the C5's and 6's soon. Besides, I am trying to get her and Kyle to see the virtues of ABS since their camaro track testing cars don't have it.
